Description
A rare map of Asia, decorated with a large, pictorial title cartouche.
Cassini's atlas the 'Nuovo Atlante Geografico Universale', was a luxury work, with decorated maps on heavy paper, but was published at a time that the market was for more scientific (and cheaper) maps. It sold badly and so Cassini's maps are scarce.
