Description

Attractive town-plan of Corfu. According to the German description on the map, this is a "new and accurate version of the fortress of Corfu, designed by a Venetian Engineer anno 1716". In the summer of 1716 the Ottoman Empire besieged Corfu, which at the time was held by the Republic of Venice. On the plan we can see the citadel and city of Corfu with its fortifications, a new fortress, as well as the military camps of the Ottoman army. Decorated with ships and a coat of arms.
