A striking view looking down on Liverpool from above Birkenhead, detailing the new docks built on the side of the Mersey, ending at Clarence Dock, with Collingwood Dock (opened 1848) not shown. Other buildings shown include the Custom House, the Town Hall and Borough Gaol.
