Description
A fine prospect of Warsaw as the armies of Sweden and her allies occupied the city for the second time, following the Battle of Warsaw in July 1656.
It was drawn by Erik Jönsson Dahlbergh (1625-1703), a Swedish military engineer and advisor to Charles X, who ended his career in 1702 as a Field Marshal, He also also supplied town plans to the Merian publishing house and assisted Samuel Pufendorf in compiling ''De Rebus a Carolo Gustavo Sveciae Rege Gestis Commentariorium Libri Septem'', providing this prospect to be engraved by Nicolas Perelle.
