Description

A rare map of Cyprus, with a 16-point ket of places. Nicosia's star-shaped walls are shown. It was published in from Henry de Beauvau's 'Relation Journaliere du Voyage du Levant', an account of the French diplomatic expedition of 1605-10 to Constantinople to meet the new Sultan, Ahmed I. A second edition was published in 1619 with identical letterpress.

A good example.
