Description
A detailed plan of St James's Park as designed by John Nash on the commission of George IV, published the year before George died.
Orientated with north to the bottom, it shows Buckingham Palace before the buildign of the east wing public façade, still with Marble Arch before the open courtyard. Between the park and Pall Mall are the planned new buildings incluing Carlton House Terrace, the Athenaeum Club and the United Service Club, Herald's College and the Duke of York's Column.
Birdcage Walk is still marked 'For private Carriages', with intended extsions to the Guards' Barracks.
